1.6 What subscription packages are available?

ANIMAX currently offers three subscription packages.

1.6.1 ANIMAX Monthly Subscription

Want to try out Animax? Go for the Monthly Subscription for £4.99 per month. You get a 2 week free trial to enjoy the best of ANIMAX. After a 2 week free trial, your subscription will automatically continue for as long as you choose to remain a subscriber. Please note that free trials are only available to new subscribers to the ANIMAX Service. You can easily cancel anytime and there are no cancellation fees. 

 

1.6.2 ANIMAX 6 Month Subscription

Want to dive straight in and get the best deal? Go for our 6 Month Subscription package for only £3.99 per month (20% off the Monthly Subscription price).You will be charged £3.99 per month for the first 6 months from the date that you originally joined. You are committed to ANIMAX for 6 months and there is no free trial. After 6 months you will automatically revert to the Monthly Subscription (see above for details on pricing) unless you cancel. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you wish to cancel your subscription during the first 5 months you can call our Customer Support team on 0845 434 9467 or send us an email at info@animaxtv.co.uk and we will process the cancellation for you.    During the last month of the 6 Month Subscription period you can also do this by navigating to the ‘My Accounts’ section and selecting the ‘Cancel’ option (this option won’t appear until the 6th payment has been made but you can still cancel earlier by calling Customer Support or emailing info@animaxtv.co.uk).

1.7 Do I need to register to watch videos?

You can still watch our free simulcasts episodes without an ANIMAX account. To get the best of ANIMAX and benefit from no ads, watch simulcasts first and unlimited access to TV boxsets and movies. Join now

1.8 What can I watch for free on ANIMAX?

Our simulcast episodes are available to non-subscribers 1 week after subscribers.  They are free to watch (with ads) for a 2 week period. After two weeks, the episodes will only be available to subscribers.

1.9 When do new episodes become available?

There are hundreds of movies and TV episodes to watch instantly on demand, and we'll add new simulcast episodes each week. Our simulcasts episodes will be showing shortly after they air in Japan, so you’ll never be behind!

We also regularly add new programmes and movies to our service, so keep up to date by browsing our website and sign up to our newsletter to be the first to receive exclusive alerts about our latest additions.

1.10 Will content be dubbed or subtitled?

Both subtitled and dubbed versions are available for some, but not all programmes on ANIMAX. However, we are looking to increase the options available on our service to match all preferences.

1.11 How does ANIMAX manage parental control?

We offer a parental control tool on ANIMAX by way of a 4 digit PIN. If you have enabled the 4-digit PIN, your device will not be able to play either 15 or 18 rated content unless you type in the PIN. Make sure you set this on each device in your household.

2. HOW TO WATCH


2.1 How can I watch ANIMAX on my TV?

You can watch ANIMAX on your TV using your PlayStation®4 system, PlayStation®3 system, AirPlay enabled device or alternatively connect your computer or laptop to the TV. All you need is the right cable. Plug one end in your laptop or computer and the other straight into your TV.  Go to the device page for more information.

2.2 How can I watch ANIMAX on my computer?

All you need to watch ANIMAX is an internet-connected computer. Just open your browser and go to animaxtv.co.uk and start browsing our titles.

2.3 How can I watch ANIMAX on my mobile device?

We don’t yet have mobile applications but you can access the website through the browser on your device. You can also stream videos from your mobile or tablet.

2.4 Why does some content show a number of hours left?

Subscribers will have access to free simulcasts one week before they are available to non subscribers. Non-Subscribers will have a two week timed window for our Simulcast seasons with a countdown to expiry. The expiry date reflects this time window, and this will differ from programme to programme.

2.5 Can I resume play?

You can resume playing an episode on ANIMAX at anytime provided you have access to that title.

On the PlayStation®4 system any videos you watch will automatically resume playback from where you left off.

On all other devices, once you navigate away from watching a title, you can resume watching the programme from where you left off by fast-forwarding to the desired point in the video. If you want to go back to the beginning simply press stop or navigate the bar back to the start.

2.6 Can I pause, rewind or fast forward through videos?

When watching a video you can click on the player’s timeline and you will be taken to that point in the video. When your cursor moves over the screen, a control bar will appear at the bottom of the player. To move forward and backwards during a film you can move the time indicator on the slider. The player controls are hidden during playback. To make them re-appear at any time, you can simply move your mouse.

2.7 Can I watch programmes offline?

No, unfortunately at the moment you need to have an active internet connection to be able to watch content.

2.8 How can I search Animax for content?

You can use the search box in the top-right corner of the screen, put in your search terms and press enter. Just scroll through the results to find what you are looking for.

You can also browse titles by collection through the Shows & Movies section.

2.9 How can I share content with my friends?

Sharing to your friends has never been easier. You can share any video by pressing the menu button on the player and then the “Share” button to post ANIMAX videos on your favourite social networks.

Click on the Facebook ‘Like’ button and a link to the video will appear in your 'timeline' and ‘recent activity’ on your Facebook profile page.

Click the Twitter button and your selected video will be added to your Twitter profiles 'stream'.

Click on 'Email to a friend' opens a pop-up window for you to send the video directly from our ANIMAX website with a message to your fellow anime friends.

Please note that your friends may need to be ANIMAX subscribers to see certain titles.

2.10 Can family members watch different videos at the same time?

If you are a subscriber you are limited to two concurrent videos being played. This means that you and another family member can watch different videos on up to two different devices.

3.2 Where can I subscribe?

3.3 How does the 2 week free trial work?

If you join the Monthly Subscription, you can enjoy a 2 week free trial. You will not be charged during this period. Following the 2 week free trial your Monthly Subscription starts for £4.99. If you join the 6 Month Subscription, you are not entitled to the 2 week free trial.

3.4 Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes you can cancel your subscription.

3.4.1 Monthly Subscription

If you go for the Monthly Subscription, you can easily cancel at any time. There are no cancellation fees and you can restart when you're ready.

We don’t want to see you go, but to cancel go to "My account" and hit the "Cancel" button in the Subscriptions page.

Your cancellation will be registered and your access to the ANIMAX Service will cease at the end of the payment period in which you notify us of your wish to cancel. We do not provide refunds or credits if you cancel your subscription part way through a billing period. No refunds will be given for videos that you have not fully viewed before the expiry of the access period.

If the period it covers hasn't started you won't be charged for it. You will still have access to the service for the current billing period that you have paid for.

3.4.2 6 Month Subscription

If you go for the 6 Month Subscription you are committed to a 6 Month Subscription period and will be charged £3.99 per month.

Your subscription starts straight away for a period of 6 months from the date that you originally joined.

You may cancel your subscription at anytime however you will still be charged £3.99 each month for the first 6 months from the date that you joined.

After 6 months your subscription will automatically revert to the Monthly Subscription unless you cancel.

Please refer to the Terms of service paragraph 5 for details about cancellation.

3.5 Why did my subscription end?

We may cancel your subscription if we fail to process your monthly payment. If this should happen we recommend going into your account management options, updating your payment details and restarting your subscription.

3.6 What are the password requirements?

Passwords for ANIMAX accounts need to be at least 8 characters long and less than 20 characters and include upper and lowercase letters, a number and a symbol.  You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your ANIMAX  username and password.

4.1 What payment methods do you accept?

The accepted payment methods for ANIMAX are:

4.2 How can I see my purchase history?

Just login and then click on "my account" at the top of the screen. Click on the tab named “Order history” and you will see a table with the list of purchases you have made.

4.3 How is my payment protected?

All your personal information is handled over secure connections. Our payment gateway also complies with The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

 

 

 

5. PARENTAL CONTROL


5.1 Can I restrict what content my children can watch?

Absolutely. Protecting children is important to us. You can set up a parental control PIN on your computer. When you navigate to a video rated 15 or 18 you will be given the opportunity to set up a parental control PIN. This PIN number will be required whenever someone tries to watch a 15 or 18rated video on that device.

5.2 How do I set up parental control?

All you need to do is to navigate to a video with an age restriction of 15 or 18 and then follow the on-screen instructions to set up the parental PIN. Once the PIN is set anyone trying to view content on that device and browser will be asked to input the PIN. Please note that the PIN will protect access to all content rated 15 or above.

5.3 I forgot my parental control PIN, what can I do to recover it?

When you navigate to a video that is rated 15 or above you will be asked to insert your PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN there is an option to retrieve your PIN via email. Select the option and a PIN reminder will be sent to the email address that was specified when setting up the PIN.

5.4 How can I report inappropriate content?

If you are concerned that certain content on the site is inappropriate or has an incorrect age-rating please send an email to: content@animaxtv.co.uk.

 

 

 

6. TROUBLESHOOTING


6.1 What are the system requirements for ANIMAX?

To watch ANIMAX videos you will need:

  • A recent browser with Flash Player 10.2 or above installed on an internet-connected Mac or PC.
  • A connection of at least 4Mbit/s is recommended for viewing streaming content in HD. Lower quality video can be viewed on slower connections.

Please note that you are responsible for any costs that your operator may charge you for data usage. Viewing the ANIMAX service via a Mobile network may be less reliable than via a broadband internet connection and may incur in higher charges from your Mobile Network service provider.

6.2 What kind of internet connection is required to watch ANIMAX?

To watch content in 720p HD you will need an actual connection speed of at least 4 Mbit/sec. Please consider that actual connection speeds may be lower than the value advertised by your service provider.
If there is traffic on your connection the bandwidth available for ANIMAX may be lower than the actual connection speed. If you have a connection slower than 2Mbit/sec you may see a lower quality version of the video.
You can test your internet connection speed on www.speedtest.net.

6.3 What browsers and operating systems does ANIMAX support?

Generally any recent browser with Flash Player 10.2 or above will be able to play videos.

6.4 How do I access ANIMAX from my mobile device?

We don’t yet have mobile applications unfortunately. You can access the website from your browser.

6.5 What is the video streaming quality?

Videos are streamed at different quality based on your internet connection speed and available bandwidth ranging from standard definition to high definition. The best quality to allow viewing without interruptions is automatically determined based on your connection speed. To view high definition content we recommend at least a 4Mbit/s connection.

6.6 How can I improve streaming quality?

To improve streaming quality please reduce all other traffic on your connection such as downloads or other streaming media. If you're on a wireless connection you may want to try to get closer to your wireless router to get a better signal.

6.7 How do I watch content full screen?

On the website, to watch a video full screen just start the video and then click on the full screen button in the video control bar. The full screen icon contains an arrow pointing to the top-right corner.

6.8 Can I watch ANIMAX outside the UK?

No, the ANIMAX service is restricted to the UK only at the moment.

6.9 How do I find content that is subtitled or dubbed?

When you are viewing the page for a show or series you can filter content for subtitled or dubbed content. Please consider that not all content is available with both options.

6.11 How do I change my ANIMAX password?

On the website, to change your password, log-in and then click on the "my account" link at the top of the page. Click on the "Personal Details" page and then the "Change Personal Details" button.

If you have forgotten your password follow the instructions from the login page.

6.12 I forgot my ANIMAX password, how can I reset it?

On our log-In page, click "Forgot your password?" and enter the e-mail address associated with your ANIMAX account and we'll email you a link to reset your password. Please check your inbox and follow the instructions in the email.

If you do not receive the email please check the spam folder in your email account to make sure it was not accidentally marked as spam.

If you're still not receiving your password reset email after trying the steps above,  contact Customer Services for help with restoring access to your account. Customer Support can be reached at 0845 434 9467.
